What type of scope do you use and why? What made you pick that one over another?
I use a master cardiology. I have had it now for going on 11 yrs. I got it while in paramedic class.
I picked this one over any other because another one of our medics had it and I really liked it. Not saying any other scopes are bad but I have to say I really like the master cardiology.

I use a Littman classic I recieved as a Christmas present, unless I leave it home, then I use whats on the rig, but definitely prefer the littman over the cheap ones, it does make a difference, especially with your own earpieces that fit better than the stock plastic ones

I personally have a Littman and I think its great as it fits comfortably and snug in the ear, however, since I don't always bring it with me to work, I use the basic stethoscopes they have on the rigs, and they work just fine.

I prefer a littmann Stethoscope had on since I passed my EMT exam in 2010 and it was worked fine since then. Don't seem to have a problem with road noise when doing BP's along the way to the hospital.

I agree with all of the above - whatever they give me, I use and it works. What are the advantages to using a Littmann?

I started with an ADC adscope, Now i use a few different Littmans, one work, one play, one ems, etc. Really have no huge preference of which one I use as long as it has a super soft ear piece!

I use the stethoscopes they provide at work, some are definitely better then others.

I can definitely tell the difference in quality between my Cardiology III and the crap scope I had to use for my clinical comp in nursing school. Some scopes have diaphragms that are shot as well as have a crappy seal so you lose so much sound. When you have pt with a weak bp and or apical(which I had) you really need to be in a quiet setting with no background noise...which rarely happens unless you are in an ICU or something...certainly not in the back of an ambulance. At the end of the day, use what is comfortable and what allows you to record accurate vitals.
